19 Odisha cadre IPS officers get promotion; notification out – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: Altogether 19 Odisha cadre IPS officers were promoted to various ranks by the state government today.

At least five IPS officers were promoted to the rank of Inspector General (IG) of police. Besides, a senior IPS officer was promoted to the rank of Additional Director General (ADG) of police and six others were given promotion to the grade of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police, said a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievances department today.

IPS officer Anup Kumar Sahoo (2006 batch) was promoted to the rank of IG police. Similarly, four other Odisha cadre IPS officers, who are now on central deputation, were also allowed to avail promotion to the rank of IG police, said the notification.

The IPS officers are Amrita Dash, Anirudha Kumar Singh, Anoop Krishna and Sudha Singh. They are all 2006-batch officers.

Senior IPS officer Ghanashyam Upadhyay (1999 batch), now on central deputation, was allowed to avail promotion to the grade of ADG police.

IPS officers Mitrabhanu Mahapatra, Sarah Sharma and Kanwar Vishal Singh, all 2010 batch, were promoted to the grade of DIG police.

Similarly, IPS officers Ashish Kumar Singh, Parul Gupta and K Siva Subramani, who are now on central deputation, were allowed to avail promotion to the rank of DIG police, added the notification.

Moreover, IPS officers Pinak Mishra, Banoth Jugal Kishore Kumar, Battula Gangadhar, Rahul Jain, Sarvana Vivek, Kusalkar Nitin Dagdu and Pratyush Diwaker were also given promotion by the state government.
