Balangir: Police today arrested two persons for allegedly attacking house surgeon Biswaranjan Sahu at the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Odisha’s Balangir district on Thursday evening.
The accused have been identified as Samir Badamali and Raju Sahu. The two are relatives of a patient, who was being treated by the doctor at the hospital. The accused assaulted the doctor alleging medical negligence.
The victim sustained critical injuries and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the medical college and hospital.
Healthcare service was partially affected at the hospital today as house surgeons of the healthcare facility staged a cease-work protest demanding arrest of the accused.
Staging a dharna on the hospital premises, the agitating house surgeons demanded immediate arrest of accused under the NSA Act.
