Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh for next of kin of each deceased in the accident on Cuttack-Chandbali road near Katarapada under Nischintakoili block of Odisha’s Cuttack district.
Expressing grief over the incident, the CM directed for proper treatment of nine persons at the SCB Hospital in Cuttack as they were critically injured in the mishap.
A head-on collision between a bus and a truck killed at least three persons and left around 40 others injured on Cuttack-Chandbali road near Katarapada.
As per reports, the bus carrying the passengers was heading towards Cuttack from Chandbali, during which it collided head-on with a truck at around 7.30 am.
“Poor visibility owing to foggy conditions might have led to the accident. The exact cause can be ascertained after a probe,” said Transport Commissioner Amitabh Thakur.
