Police ASI critical in attack by locals in Odisha’s Boudh – N.F Times



Boudh: Kumuda Bhoi, ASI of Manamunda police station in Odisha’s Boudh district, was critically injured after allegedly being attacked by locals at a village, last night.

As per reports, the cop had gone to Dapala village in a PCR van after receiving complaint regarding a kidnapping in the locality.

As he reached the village along with two home guards, around 10 unidentified persons intercepted the vehicle and then launched attack on the ASI with lathis. The two home guards and the driver of the PCR van managed to escape.

Bhoi sustained critical injuries in the attack and was admitted to the Sonepur District Headquarters Hospital. The victim was then shifted to the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir and later to Vikash Hospital in Bargarh as his condition deteriorated.

Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and started investigation. Efforts were on to trace and nab the attackers.
