Basta: A junior engineer (JE) was spotted dead today under mysterious circumstances while lying on the floor in his government quarters under Baliapal block in Balasore district. He was working in the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) division.
The JE was identified as Sanjay Kumar Nayak, who was alone in the house.
According to a source, a few of his subordinate staff found him in the morning. Later, they informed to local police. The staff rescued the JE and immediately took him to community health centre (CHC) in Baliapal in critical condition, where doctors declared him ‘dead’.
“We knocked on the main door of the house and broke it open as he (the JE Nayak) did not respond for quite a long time. He was lying on the floor,” a subordinate staff stated.
“It has not been ascertained yet why the engineer took an extreme step,” a senior cop expressed.
On being informed, Baliapal police reached the hospital and initiated a probe.
Notably, the JE was suffering from Jaundice and another disease and was undergoing treatment.
