IMD forecasts dense fog in these Odisha districts for next 2 days, issues Yellow Warning – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: With no significant synoptic system lying over the region, dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts of Odisha during the next 48 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Minimum temperatures observed no large change over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably below normal at one or two places, markedly above normal at one or two places, appreciably above normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, above normal at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: No large change in Minimum (night) temperature during next two days and fall thereafter by 2oC to 3oC at many places over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 30.8°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi, Boudh and Nabarangpur and the lowest minimum temperature of 11.5°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

For Wednesday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 11.01.2024)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, North Interior odisha and one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada and Koraput.

For Thursday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 12.01.2024)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Rayagada and Koraput.
