Puri Srimandir Parikrama project: 9 swing doors installed along corridor – N.F Times

Puri: As many as nine swing doors have been installed along the Puri Srimandir Parikrama corridor, set to be manually operated by both the police and temple administration during the Parikrama project inauguration on January 17.

To ensure a timely completion, the executing agencies have been instructed to deliver the doors before January 11.

This decision was taken during a meeting held on Tuesday in the presence of Chief Secretary Pradip Kumar Jena.

Additionally, a decision was made to deploy 120 police platoons to ensure the security of VIP guests and the smooth management of the Srimandir Parikrama inauguration ceremony.

Puri collector Samarth Verma said the work on the corridor, Sri Setu and Sri Danda is almost complete. A new road, approximately a kilometer long, parallel to Bada Danda, named Sri Danda, has been constructed from the Jagannath Ballav multilevel parking place to Singhadwara. This is aimed at reducing crowd congestion on Bada Danda.

Devotees arriving by vehicles from Bhubaneswar and Brahmagiri areas will take the Sri Setu bypass and reach the Jagannath Ballav parking place. They will then use Sri Danda, the shortest route to the Srimandir, the Collector added.
