2 dead, 1 more critically injured after motorcycles collide head-on in Odisha’s Koraput – N.F Times



Koraput: Two persons were killed and one more sustained grievous injuries as the motorcycles on which they were travelling had a head-on collision today on the main road near Patraput village of Jalaput panchayat under Nandapur police limits in Koraput district.

The two deceased were identified as Dhania Khara and Manika Khemundu. They belonged to Khamara village under Nandapur block. The critically injured was identified as Rabindra Khara from Palam village under Lamataput block in the district.

The injured was rescued by some locals and was admitted to the community health centre (CHC) in Lamataput for treatment. “Rabindra’s condition is not out of danger,” a doctor treating him said.

“The collision was so intense that two motorcyclists died on the spot,” an eyewitness said.

On being informed, Nandapur police reached the spot and launched a probe into the deaths. Police have recovered the bodies and sent them to a nearby hospital for post-mortem.
