Bhubaneswar: A 43-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Sagua village under Balianta police limits on the outskirts of Odisha capital, last night.
The deceased was identified as Biswajit Nayak alias Babu. The body was found with throat being slit.
It is being suspected that he was murdered, two days ago.
As per reports, Babu, who was residing in Bhubaneswar and running a hotel in VSS Nagar area in the city, had come to the village, couple of days ago. Instead of staying with his father, he was living in a separate house in the village.
His younger brother Ranjit telephoned him on Saturday. However, there was no response to the calls. Later, Ranjit asked Natia, one of his family members, to visit the house. As Natia reached the place in the evening, he detected foul smell emanating from the house.
As Natia looked into the house through the window, he spotted Ranjit lying dead in a pool of blood under a blanket.
On being informed, police reached the village, recovered the body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances which led to the death.
