Elephant strays into Odisha’s Baripada town, locals panic [Watch Videos] – N.F Times



Baripada: An elephant strayed into Odisha’s Baripada late last night, leaving the residents of the town panic-stricken.

On being informed about the presence of the pachyderm in the residential areas, a team of Forest Department reached the place.

As per reports, the animal also entered the premises of MKC High School here by breaking the boundary wall.

As the Forest Department team tried to drive away the elephant, it started to run and enter several lanes in the locality. Efforts were on by the team to tranquilize the jumbo.

In order to avoid any untoward incident, police have advised the locals through loudspeakers to stay indoors.

Recently, a herd of elephants from Similipal had come out of the forest in search of food. One of the elephants got left out and later headed towards the town, reports said.
