Bargarh: A truck ran over four workers killing them on the spot at Birjam village under Melchamunda police limits in Odisha’s Bargarh district, today.
The deceased hailed from Madhya Pradesh and were working with a borewell company.
Another worker sustained critical injuries in the mishap and was hospitalized.
According to reports, the five workers were sleeping under a pipe-laden truck, during which the driver of the vehicle was moving it. The driver accidentally ran the truck over them, resulting in the death of the four workers.
Police have started an investigation into the matter by questioning the concerned contractor.
