Maoist camp destroyed, huge cache of articles seized from dump in Odisha’s Boudh – N.F Times

Kantamal: During a combing operation, the Special Operations Group (SOG) jawans destroyed a Maoist camp and busted a large dump of the ultras today morning following around a three-hour-long exchange of fire in Budhakhol forest bordering Kandhamal under Kantamal police limits in Boudh district.

The combing operation, that started previously, was intensified after Maoist posters surfaced on January 5 at Manamunda in the district as increased movement of the Red Rebels was noticed. However, Maoists managed to flee from the spot and no one was arrested, a senior official said.

A huge cache of Maoist articles owned by a faction of the Red Rebels was recovered and later seized. The articles were taken to Kandhamal district. At least three ultra camps have been destroyed and several articles were earlier seized in around the last three months.

It is pertinent to mention here that a Maoist dump was revered on December 24, 2023, by a joint team of the District Voluntary Force (DVF) and SOG personnel following a search operation at a place under Kalimela police limits on the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border in Malkangiri district.

Another Maoist dump was revered on December 27, 2023, by a joint team of the DVF and SOG jawans during a search operation at a place under Machhkund police limits in Koraput district.
