Bhubaneswar: Popular Ollywood director Sudhakar Basant sustained critical injuries as a car in which he was travelling hit a truck from rear near Manguli Square in Choudwar area of Odisha’s Cuttack district, early this morning.
As per reports, the car rammed into a cement-laden truck which was parked on roadside. The ill-fated vehicle was severely mangled under the impact of the collision.
Basant and the car driver were grievously injured in the accident. The duo was stuck inside the damaged vehicle for a while.
On being informed, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the two from the damaged vehicle.
The victims were admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.
