Cop suspended as bodies carried in PCR van in Odisha’s Jharsuguda – N.F Times



Jharsuguda: Sandhyarani Jena, former IIC of Lakhanpur police station in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district, was today placed under suspension as bodies of road accident victims were allegedly carried in a PCR van in the area recently.

As per reports, three persons had died in a road mishap near Thakathaki Chhak under Lakhanpur police limits on January 8. The three bodies were allegedly carried in a PCR van and dumped near Goudapada Chhak under Belpahar police limits.

After the incident was reported in ‘Sambad’, the district SP had ordered for an investigation into the matter.

On the basis of preliminary report, Jena was on January 18 transferred to the District Police Headquarters.

On the other hand, she was today suspended.

Jena was also suspended four years ago for allegedly thrashing an accused while she was posted at the Patana Police Station in Keonjhar district.
