Cuttack: Dr Bhubanananda Mahararana, Emergency Officer of SCB Medical College and Hospital here, passed away while undergoing treatment, last night. He was 69.
The senior doctor underwent surgery for brain stroke and was being treated at the Neurosurgery Department of the hospital.
Maharana had also suffered a brain stroke due to high blood pressure in February, last year.
A pall of gloom descended on the fraternity after the demise of Maharana, who was known for managing crisis-like situations and mass casualties at the hospital.
He was associated with the SCB Hospital for around 50 years.
