Bhubaneswar: Panic gripped commuters on Patia-Nandankanan road in Odisha capital last night as a car was seen dragging a scooter for around one kilometer.
As per information, the car, which was allegedly being driven by a drunk man, initially hit a woman and later dashed against the two-wheeler.
The car driver, instead of stopping the vehicle, continued to drive it with the scooter being stuck under its front lower portion.
It was an unusual scene for the passersby and commuters as the dragging of the scooter under the car created fire spark due to friction.
Fortunately, the owner of the scooter was not on the two-wheeler at the time of the accident. However, the woman sustained injuries in the mishap and was hospitalized.
The accused car driver, a resident of Patia area, was detained by police for questioning. Cops have also seized the car.
