Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance last night arrested Sanjaya Kumar Mohanty, Junior Engineer (JE), CADA Division, Malkangiri, for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of 236% of his known sources of income.
He was forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore. The official was later remanded to judicial custody till February 13.
During house searches, the anti-corruption agency unearthed the following movable and immovable assets in the name of Mohanty and his family members.
- One triple-storeyed building located at Deulipanchughanta, Jaleswar, Balasore.
- One 2-BHK Flat in Green Homes Apartment at Raghunathpur, Bhubaneswar.
- 14 plots in the prime area of Jaleswar Town.
- Cash to the tune of Rs 1,43,220.
- 1 four-wheeler (Honda City) and 2 two-wheelers worth about Rs 12.70 lakh.
- Bank & Insurance deposits worth approx. Rs 8 lakh.
- Gold and household articles worth over Rs 14.18 lakh.
After a thorough search, inventory, and further inquiry, the income, expenditure, and assets of Mohanty were calculated, and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 236% of his known sources of income.
