Bhubaneswar: An SUV carrying West Bengal Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya’s husband Samir Bose met with a mishap in Balasore district of Odisha today.
The mishap took place on National Highway-16 while Bose along with four others were on their way to Odisha capital to attend a dog show, sources said.
The SUV hit a concrete pipe kept alongside the NH when the driver lost control over the vehicle in Talanagar area under Soro police limits in Balasore in the afternoon, sources said.
Bose and four others sustained injuries in the mishap. The police along with the locals rescued the injured persons and rushed them to a nearby hospital. Two injured persons—S Chaterjee and Shyamal Basu—were later brought to a hospital in the capital city here as their condition deteriorated, sources added.
The police seized the SUV and launched a probe into the incident.
