CBI files charge sheet against Bhubaneswar-based YouTuber over claims on Sridevi’s death – N.F Times

Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed charge sheet against Deepti R Pinniti, a Bhubaneswar-based YouTuber and self-styled investigator, for allegedly making claims regarding the death of actor Sridevi on the basis of “forged” letters from dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, news agency PTI reported.

The central agency had last year registered a case against Pinniti, and her lawyer Bharath Suresh Kamath on the basis of a complaint filed by Mumbai-based lawyer Chandni Shah. The complaint was referred to the CBI by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

As per the allegations, Pinniti produced several documents, including letters from the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister, along with documents related to the Supreme Court and records from the UAE government, which appeared to be forged.

Notably, Pinniti was an active participant in social media discussions over death of Bollywood actors Sridevi and Sushant Singh Rajput.

While Sridevi died in Dubai in February of 2018, Pinniti claimed about a “coverup between the two governments” in an interview based on her “investigations”.

The CBI had carried out searches at her residence in Bhubaneswar on December 2 and seized digital devices, including phones and laptops.

As per the CBI report submitted before a special court, the documents presented by her were “forged”.

“It’s hard to believe that the CBI has filed a charge sheet against me without recording my statement. Moreover, the evidence will be given to court when charges are framed. When the letters in question are incriminating against the very authorities under whom the CBI comes, CBI becomes a party of conflict to be the entity to collect evidence,” said Pinniti speaking to PTI.
