Cuttack: Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh today took oath as the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.
Odisha Governor Raghubar Das administered the oath of office to Justice Singh at a ceremony held at the Orissa High Court.
Earlier this month, President Droupadi Murmu had appointed him as the new Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court after consultation with DY Chandrachud, Chief Justice of India.
Justice Subhasis Talapatra had retired as the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court on October 3, 2023. After that, Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi was serving as the Acting Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
Justice Singh had been functioning as a judge at the Patna High Court since 2012. He assumed the charge as Acting Chief Justice, Patna High Court in 2023.
