Bhubaneswar: Intensifying attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Odisha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today said the PM is a liar and doesn’t belong to OBC.
Gandhi was addressing a gathering in Jharsuguda district during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
“Modi once told in Parliament that he belongs to OBC. He is lying to the country. He was not born OBC. He originally belonged to general caste. In the year 2000, the BJP government in Gujarat included his caste in OBC category,” said Gandhi.
“I don’t need any birth certificate to know if Modi belongs to OBC or not. He never hugs any OBC person. Modi will never conduct caste census in the country. Only Congress will do it,” he said.
Accusing the Prime Minister of favouring industrialists, Gandhi said, “He implemented GST and demonetization to help Adani and eliminate small businesses. Youths are not getting employment in Odisha and India.”
“Social injustice is prevailing across the country. You will not find dalits or people from OBC at significant positions of government or private organizations,” the Congress leader said.
Taking a jibe at the PM’s lifestyle, Gandhi said, “While the Prime Minister’s monthly salary is Rs 1.60 lakh, Modi wears multiple new suits worth lakhs of rupees, daily. Who are funding these expenditures?”
He also targeted the ruling BJD government in Odisha alleging that BJD and BJP are exploiting the farmers. “Both are having a partnership in Odisha. They are trying to loot the land of tribals and farmers and give it to industrialists,” said Gandhi.
