Rs 1.18 lakh crore Vote on Account tabled in Odisha Assembly; check sectoral allocations – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: Finance Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha tabled Rs 1.18 lakh crore Vote on Account for the first four months of 2024-25 fiscal in Odisha Assembly here today.

The Finance Minister has allocated the highest sum of Rs 24,764.28 crore for School and Mass Education department, followed by Rs 22,543.33 crore for Panchayati Raj department.

The allocation for Health department stood at Rs 19,729.33 crore while it is Rs 13,267 crore for Water Resources department, Rs 12,043.44 crore for Planning and Convergence department, Rs 10,950 crore for Works department, Rs 9,330 crore for Rural Development and Rs 8,641 crore for Home department.

The Finance Minister has allocated Rs 4,000 crore for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Rs 100 crore for Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana, Rs 692 crore for PM Awas Yojana (Urban), Rs 2,000 crore for Basudha Yojana, Rs 6,000 crore for Jal Jivan Mission and Rs 1,000 crore for capital region metro rail project in the Vote on Account.

The government allocated Rs 700 crore for railway projects in Odisha, Rs 6,194 crore for development of roads, Rs 200 crore for Nua-O programme, Rs 200 crore for Biju Setu Yojana and Rs 1,424 crore for disaster management.

Similarly, it has provided Rs 852 crore for development of sports infrastructure in Odisha, Rs 72 crore for providing assistance to artistes, Rs 15 crore for preservation of ancient monuments, Rs 2,761 crore for Mission Shakti, Rs 1,162 crore for NRLM and Rs 521 for Mamata scheme.
