Police said as per preliminary investigation, it appears to be a pre-planned murder hatched by Bhabani’s brother and five other accomplices including his sister in-law.

Nilagiri: Shocking details emerged hours after bodies of two missing youths were recovered from the Blue Lake in Mitrapur in Odisha’s Balasore district with police detaining six persons including brother and sister in-law of one of the deceased and calling it a pre-planned murder. The deceased were identified as Bhabani Shankar (21) and Manoranjan Mahapatra (22) of Kansa village, who had gone missing since February 5.

Family members had alleged murder after locals had spotted their two-wheeler, shoes and blood stains near the water body the following day. After rescue operations were initiated, the bodies were finally recovered from the abandoned quarry today.

Police said as per preliminary investigation, it appears to be a pre-planned murder hatched by Bhabani’s brother and five other accomplices including his sister in-law. Bhabani’s elder brother had hatched a conspiracy to kill him. As per the plan, the supari killers had attacked Bhabani when he and Manoranjan had stepped out. When Manoranjan saw Bhabani’s body, the supari killers killed him too before disposing of the bodies in the water body, official sources said.
