Jajpur: Decomposed body of a woman was found packed in a gunny bag near Baitarani river at Kuanrpur under Mangalpur police limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district, today.
The identify of the deceased was yet to be established.
As per reports, locals initially spotted the bag and detected foul smell emanating from it. On being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the matter.
Though the reason of the death was not known, it is being suspected that the woman was murdered, and the body was stuffed in the gunny bag.
A case has been registered in this connection while further probe was underway.
