Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to take action against the agitating State Secretariat Staff.

Dr. Nivedita Prusty, Additional Secretary to Government, has written a letter in this regard to all additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries and commissioner-cum-secretaries.

“I am directed to say that Odisha Secretariat Services (OSS) Cadre officers are on strike from 13.02.2024. Due to their unauthorized absence, inconveniences and disruptions are being experienced in doing regular official work,” Prusty mentioned in the letter.

The official urged the secretaries to take the following steps immediately under intimation to the Home Department.

  1. Officers who are not coming to office for duty shall be treated as on un-authorized absence and this period will be treated as without pay and discontinuance in service. In addition to this, a proposal will be sent to the Home Department for drawal of Departmental Proceeding against those officers.
  2. All newly recruited ASOs who have submitted their joining report but not attending duties, their details may be sent to the Home Department for their termination from Government service.
  3. The details of the new ASOs who have not yet joined may also be sent to the Home Department for further action.
