Keonjhar: In a tragic incident, a man and his son were killed in a road accident near Pipilia Chhak under Ghatagaon police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district today while one of their family members died of heart attack after hearing about the mishap.
As per reports, Kande Munda (57) and his son Laxman Munda (35) were heading towards Bankapatuli vegetable market from their village Barigaon on a scooter in the morning, during which a truck hit the ill-fated two-wheeler.
The two sustained critical injuries in the accident and died on the spot.
Tragedy for the family was far from over as Laxman’s uncle Samara Munda, on knowing about the deaths, suffered a heart attack and breathed his last.
On the other hand, tension ran high at the accident spot as irate locals blocked the portion of NH-20 demanding compensation for the family. Vehicular movement was affected on the road due to the blockade.
On being informed, police reached the place and tried to pacify the angry locals.
