Boudh: In a shocking incident, the body of a junior engineer at the Water Resources department was found hanging in his official residence in Odisha’s Boudh district here today. The deceased was identified as Pradip Kumar Ghosh (32), a resident of Baripada. He was unmarried and staying alone at the government quarters in the Irrigation Colony. While it is suspected to be a case of suicide, the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
As per reports, Ghosh attended a feast at the office on Wednesday and returned to his quarters. However, when he did not come back after a long while, his colleagues went to check on him. Finding the door locked, they suspected something was amiss and broke it open only to find Ghosh hanging from the ceiling fan.
While family members dismissed any conflict or distress in his life that could have led him to take such a drastic step, sources said Ghosh was undergoing treatment for psychiatric issues.
Police, on getting information, reached the spot and started investigation. A case has been registered. The cause of death can be established only after the autopsy report arrives, official sources informed.
