Remuneration hike for Anganwadi workers in Odisha – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: The state government today hiked the remuneration of Anganwadi workers and their assistants in Odisha.

The monthly remuneration of Anganwadi workers has been hiked to Rs 10,000 from the existing Rs 7,500, said the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a statement today.

Similarly, the remuneration of Mini-Anganwadi workers has been hiked to Rs 7,250 from the existing Rs 5,375. Besides, the monthly remuneration of Anganwadi assistants has been raised to Rs 5,000 from Rs 3,750, added the CMO.

The remuneration hike would be implemented retrospectively from October 1, 2023. As many as 1.48 lakh Anganwadi workers, Mini-Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi assistants in the state would get the remuneration hike, said the CMO.

The state government would incur additional expenditure of Rs 350 crore for the purpose.

“The Anganwadi workers and their assistants would get the hiked remuneration from this month. The arrears for four months will be deposited in their bank accounts in between March 5 and March 10,” said the CMO.

The Anganwadi workers will get an incentive of Rs 1 lakh at the time of their retirement. Similarly, the workers of Mini-Anganwadi will get Rs 75,000 and Anganwadi workers Rs 50,000 as incentives under the Exit Policy.

The Anganwadi workers and their assistants will get compensation of Rs 2 lakh in case of accidental death or permanent disability. They will be provided with compensation of Rs 1 lakh for partial disability caused due to mishaps.
