Malkangiri: Maoists once again proved their presence in the Chhattisgarh region by killing a BJP leader in Bijapur district yesterday.
The BJP leader Tirupati Katla was hacked to death while he was attending a wedding ceremony.
According to reports, a group of Maoists launched a fatal attack on Katla, a Janpad member and Coordinator of the Cooperative Development Committee, at Toynar village where he had visited to attend a wedding function yesterday.
He sustained critical injuries in the attack. He died on his way to the district hospital.
