Bhubaneswar: The famous silver filigree (Chandi Tarakasi) work of Odisha’s Cuttack city has received the geographical indication (GI) tag.
This was revealed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in his Twitter (X) handle today.
“Cuttack’s silver filigree work got GI tag. It is a matter of honour for Odisha,” said the Chief Minister.
According to the Chief Minister, the filigree work of Cuttack has given a distinct identity to Odisha. “The centuries-old sophisticated craft practiced in the Silver City of Cuttack gives a distinct identity to our state for its intricate workmanship,” he said.
The Chief Minister also extended his best wishes to the people of Cuttack as well as Odisha.
