Odisha’s famous Shaivite shrine Dhabaleswar decks up for Shivratri; Check Mahadeep timing – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: The administration has made elaborate arrangement for smooth organization of Shivratri festival at Dhabaleswar shrine in Odisha’s Cuttack district.

The district administration has deployed adequate number of police personnel at the shrine as part of the security arrangements for Shivratri festival on March 8 (Friday), said Athagarh Sub-Collector Prasant Kumar Tarai today.

“Thousands of devotees are expected to throng the temple on the occasion of Shivratri. We have erected barricades at the 10th century shrine to regulate the crowd. Fire Brigade personnel have been deployed to check any untoward incident,” added the Sub-Collector.

The administration has also deployed a health team near the temple. Besides, CCTV cameras have been installed on the temple precincts to keep tab on pickpockets and other anti-social elements, he said.

“The police personnel have been put on high alert to check incidents of pick pocketing and snatching on the temple premises. We will also create awareness in this regard among the devotees through microphone,” added the Sub-Collector.

The shrine has been decorated with flowers for the festival. The priests will lift the Mahadeep atop the temple at around 1 am in the night, revealed the Sub-Collector.

Notably, Dhabaleswar temple, located on an island inside Mahanadi river in Cuttack district, is one of the famous Shaivite shrines in Odisha.
