Bhubaneswar: Days after organising a symbolic wedding between the BJD and BJP in Odisha to expose their alleged tacit understanding, the Congress party will hold ‘Annaprasana’ ceremony for their ‘children’ in the capital city here on March 11.
The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) alleged that the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) together have given birth to several ‘children’ in the form of multi-crore chitfund scam, mining scam, exploitation of women, price rise, illegal liquor trade, favouritism towards contractors from outside Odisha, recruitment scam and unemployment.
“The Congress party had organised a wedding ceremony for BJD and BJP in Odisha a few days ago to expose their tacit understanding. Now, both the parties are on the verge of stitching an alliance ahead of the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state. The two parties have gifted misrule and scams as their children to the people of Odisha. The party will hold Annaprasana ceremony for these children on March 11,” said OPCC social media chief Amiya Pandav.
The OPCC will hold the ceremony at its headquarters in the city here at 2 pm on March 11. “We will seek the help of a priest to perform the ritual. A feast will be organised on the occasion. The Congress party will invite the people to participate in the ceremony,” he added.
