1,294 newly-recruited officials join Odisha govt – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: As many as 1,294 newly-recruited officials joined several departments of Odisha government today.

While 725 officials joined the School & Mass Education (S&ME) Department, 280 joined the Finance Department and 129 in the Rural Development Department, said the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a statement.

Besides, 160 outstanding sports persons joined five departments–Steel & Mines, Revenue & Disaster Management, Higher Education, S&ME and Home, it added.

Attending the orientation programme for the newly-recruited officials at the convention centre of Lok Seva Bhawan here, the Chief Minister said the state government is working hard to bring transformative changes in the lives of people of Odisha.

“People’s will is supreme in my governance mechanism,” he added.

The Chief Minister advised the newly-recruited officials to work with all sincerity and commitment to serve the people.

Welcoming the officials, the Chief Minister said, “This is a huge achievement in our endeavor to accelerate the process of recruitment for filling up vacancies in the state government. We have been recruiting on a regular basis. This strengthens our capacity to serve the people.”

Patnaik thanked all the departments and the recruitment agencies for bringing efficiency to the recruitment system in Odisha.

He also expressed happiness for many outstanding sports persons being appointed to various posts in the state government. This will certainly encourage our budding sporting talents, he said.

“No work is small or big. Every job has its own significance in achieving the overall goal of greater public good. Just remember that the people of Odisha are paying for our work and we are here to serve them,” he added.

The Chief Minister further said, “I   consider the entire four and a half crore people of Odisha as my family members. We have to serve them with dignity. Our 5T Initiative has been very effective in bringing visible transformation in every sector and every region of the state. Odisha is now a model for other states in many areas. I am sure you will learn the mechanisms of 5T in your orientation and reflect it in your work in letter and spirit.”

He called upon all to work for a new and empowered Odisha.

Finance Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh, School & Mass Education Minister Sudam Marndi and Rural Development Minister Priti Ranjan Ghadai among others were present on the occasion.

Finance department Principal Secretary Vishal Dev delivered the welcome address and School & Mass Education department Secretary Aswathy S proposed the vote of thanks.
