Sundargarh: Bodies of three members of a family were today recovered from Ib River in Odisha’s Sundargarh district. The trio had gone missing in the waterbody on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as two brothers Muhammad Farhan (15) and Muhammad Rizwan (17), and their uncle Muhammad Sahid (35) of Sundargarh town.
As per reports, they had gone to the riverside for a family picnic on the occasion of Farhan’s birthday. Later, the two brothers went to the river to take bath, during which they slipped into deep waters and went missing.
Their uncle Sahid also met the same fate as he tried to rescue the duo.
Fire Services Department personnel had yesterday launched a search and rescue operation to trace the three. However, the operation was stopped in the evening due to darkness.
This morning, they fished out the three bodies from the river.
