Light to moderate rain, thundershowers very likely in Odisha districts during next 7 days – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: With the trough from north Chhattisgarh to north interior Karnataka now running from interior Odisha, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha during the next seven days, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD centre mentioned, “Maximum temperatures observed appreciable rise at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha and North Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were above normal at a few places and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. Minimum temperatures observed appreciable rise at a few places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of North Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, markedly above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal at a few places over the districts of Odisha, above normal at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: Maximum (day) temperature is likely to rise by 2°C to 4°C during next 24 hours and thereafter fall by 2°C to 3°C at many places over the districts of Odisha. No large change in the minimum (night) temperature over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 38.1°C was recorded at Paralekhamundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 18.4°C was recorded at Sundargarh in the plains of Odisha.

For Wednesday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 14.03.2024)

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Boudh and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

For Thursday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.03.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 15.03.2024)

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
