The bus has been detained at Tarbha and the driver for questioning, official sources informed.
Balangir: In an extremely tragic mishap, two bike-borne youths were crushed to death by a speeding bus in Odisha’s Balangir district here today. The incident took place near the toll gate on NH-57 on Balangir-Sonepur road.
Though the identities of the deceased have not been identified yet, preliminary investigation revealed that the bike was from Sambalpur bearing registration number OD 15Y 7983.
As per reports, the bus belonged to Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) and was plying on the Phulbani-Balangir route when it hit the bike near Bhadrapalli and ran over the two youths resulting in their death on the spot.
Police on getting information reached the spot and started probe. The bus has been detained at Tarbha and the driver for questioning, official sources informed. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
