Odisha: Former Phulbani MLA Debendra Kanhar quits BJD – N.F Times

Bhubaneswar: Debendra Kanhar, former BJD legislator from Phulbani Assembly constituency segment in Kandhamal district, today resigned from primary membership of the ruling party. He sent his resignation letter to BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik.

In his resignation letter, the former MLA expressed that he quit BJD with a heavy heart after working for around 15 years continuously from 2009. He probably quit as he was not given a ticket by the party to contest from Phulbani Assembly segment in the upcoming polls. “I feel it to be the right time to tender my resignation,” Kanhar stated.

Notably, BJD announced its second list of candidates for the General Elections 2024 a few hours ago.

Soro MLA Parshuram Dhada also resigned from BJD following the announcement.
