Mercury crosses 42 Degree C at 9 places in Odisha; Bhubaneswar hottest at 43.5 – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: Heatwave condition prevailed across Odisha as the mercury crossed 42 Degree Celsius at nine places in the state today.

The capital city of Bhubaneswar recorded the highest maximum temperature of 43.5 Degree C in Odisha today, said the IMD regional centre here.

The maximum temperature was 42.6 Degree C at Paralakhemundi, 42.4 Degree C at Talcher, 42.2 Degree C at Malkangiri and Boudh, 42.1 Degree C at Angul and 42 Degree C at three places—Balangir, Titlagarh and Nayagarh, added the IMD.

According to the IMD, as many as 25 places in Odisha recorded the maximum temperature at or above 40 Degree C today. The places are: Chandbali, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Angul, Baripada, Jharsuguda, Keonjhargarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Hirakud, Talcher, Bhawanipatna, Balangir, Titlagarh, Malkangiri, Nayagarh, Boudh, Paralakhemundi, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Bargarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Rourkela.
