61 vehicles seized, drivers booked for drunken driving in Odisha capital – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: Continuing its crackdown on drunken driving, the Commissionerate Police seized as many as 61 vehicles in the Odisha capital here last night.

The cops came across the drunken driving cases during checking and night blocking in the capital city Saturday.

The police seized 61 vehicles, including 47 four-wheelers and detained 61 drivers in this connection. A few Mercedes vehicles were seized during the drive, said the Commissionerate Police today.

The police have registered cases against the 61 drunk drivers and recommended the RTO for suspension of their driving licences (DLs).

Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda, DCP Prateek Singh, DCP (Traffic) PK Rout, all ACPs, the IICs of all police stations, 50 traffic personnel and 15 platoons of police personnel participated in the drive against drunken driving.
