Odisha BJP Vice President Lekhasri Samantsinghar joins BJD – N.F Times

Bhubaneswar: Just a few hours after leaving the BJP, Lekhasri Samantsinghar joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha.

The former vice president of Odisha unit of BJP joined the conch party in the presence of senior BJD leaders including Manas Mangaraj during a programme at Shankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

She extended her gratitude to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and 5T Chairman VK Pandian for inducting her into the regional party with an open heart.

“I would work for the BJD and people with dedication,”  Lekhasri said after joining the BJD at the event.

Earlier in the morning, Lekhasri had ended her 10-year-long ties with the BJP citing ‘negligence’ in the party despite hard efforts and dedication. She was the Vice President of Odisha unit of BJP.

In the resignation letter sent to Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal, she cited “I have given my sweat and blood to the Bharatiya Janata Party since the last ten years. However, despite all the sincerity and hard work, I could not earn the trust of the leadership. Hence, I feel there is nothing left for me to do here and my desire to serve the people of Odisha is being hampered.”
