Respite from heatwave in Odisha likely from today – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm and rainfall are likely to bring much-needed respite from heat wave conditions in Odisha from today.

As per the Regional Meteorological Centre here, several districts of the state may experience thunderstorm and rainfall today and tomorrow.

Hailstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, and Cuttack today. Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Khurda, Boudh, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, and Nayagarh today, the Meteorological Centre predicted.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Ganjam, and Kalahandi tomorrow. Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri tomorrow, the Meteorological Centre forecasted.

Temperature Forecast: No large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during the next 24 hours and fall by 2-4°C in subsequent two days.
