Eid to be celebrated in Odisha on this day, announces Chand committee – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: The people of Muslim community across Odisha will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on April 11 (Thursday).

This was revealed by Anjuman Islamia Chand Committee of the state today.

“The people in Saudi Arabia sighted the holy moon on Tuesday (today). So, they will celebrate Eid on April 10 (Wednesday). However, the festival will be celebrated across Odisha on April 11 (Thursday),” said the Chand committee, Odisha, today.

The people of the Muslim community in India and Odisha usually celebrate Eid a day after the celebration of the festival in Saudi Arabia, it added.

Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the most auspicious and holy festivals for the people of Muslim community across the world. The festival is celebrated with much fervour and enthusiasm in Cuttack, Bhadrak, Berhampur, Rourkela, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and many other places across Odisha.

The people from the Muslim community buy new clothes, cosmetics and food items for Eid celebration.
