Jankia: A working journalist was allegedly misbehaved today by sitting Chilika MLA Prashant Jagdev in a Jansampark Padyatra organised at Chhanagiri under Jankia police limits in Khurda district.

The victim journalist has been identified as Prakash Hati.

Allegedly, the BJP leader Jagdev showed high-handedness and, even to the extent, had a tussle with the locals in Chhanagiri village under Khurda parliamentary segment. Jagdev was here to take part in the Padyatra for his party-fielded MP candidate.

According to a source, Jagdev snatched away the mobile phone of Prakash when the scribe was taking photos of the BJP leader. Jagdev also warned the scribe, an FIR lodged by Prakash mentioned.

Following this, Jankia police registered a case (No-131, dated 11.04.2024) against the sitting MLA and launched a probe which is underway, Khurda SDPO Dillip Das said.
