Bhubaneswar: A liquor trader, who was arrested on charges of holding large quantities of expired beer in Odisha’s Balasore district, reportedly made an attempt to end his life in the custody of the Excise department today.
Naba Kishore, the owner of a licenced liquor shop at Patrapada in Balasore, was arrested by the Excise department sleuths after the seizure of around 45 cartons of expired beer from his outlet.
Naba Kishore reportedly consumed bleaching powder in a toilet in an attempt to end his life in the custody of the Excise department.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. His condition is stated to be stable.
