Murderous attack on two persons over past enmity in Odisha’s Cuttack, critical – N.F Times



Bhapur: Two persons were severely attacked today in Khajuripada village under Baideswar police limits in Cuttack district, over alleged murder of a sarpanch’s husband that took place around four years ago. The youths sustained grievous injuries in the incident.

The two injured were identified as Dipu Pradhan, son of Amina Pradhan, and Papu Pradhan, the son of Chandramani Pradhan, both residents of Khajuripada village.

According to a source, Papu and Dipu were on their way back on a motorcycle from Khurda to Bhapur bazaar when they were attacked by a group of more than 20 people. The attack incident occurred near Kharadapalli Chhak on the bypass road connecting Kalapathar and Bhapur bazaar.

The injured were rescued by some locals and were rushed to the community health centre (CHC) in Bhapur for treatment in critical condition. The duo was later shifted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar after their condition deteriorated. Their condition is not out of danger now, a doctor treating them said.

On being informed, a team of Baideswar police reached the hospital in Bhapur and initiated a probe into the alleged murderous attack, which is underway.
