Bhubaneswar: 7 fake policemen held for robbing valuables from denizens – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police have arrested seven men who allegedly robbed valuables from several denizens in the city by posing as cops. The gang used to carry out robberies targeting money, jewellery, and other articles.

Police seized Rs 3.5 lakh in cash, gold ornaments, gemstones, a car, two motorcycles, six mobile phones, and several incriminating documents from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Sadekh Hussain (56), Sabir Ali (33), Fayaz Hussain (36), and Hasan Ali (20) from Morwa in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli district; Abuzar Ali (23) from Peparia in Madhya Pradesh’s Osangabad district; Zahir Ali (34) from Hosangabad district in Madhya Pradesh; and Rajendra Kumar Kushabaha (32) from Nigahi in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli district.

As per police sources, the gang members would pose as police officers and target elderly individuals, especially those who were alone during morning or evening walks.

Following thorough investigations and monitoring of their modus operandi, the Bhubaneswar UPD successfully apprehended the entire gang and recovered the stolen valuables.
