6 wagons of goods train derail near Padua railway station in Odisha’s Koraput – N.F Times



Koraput: At least six wagons of a goods train derailed today near Padua railway station in Koraput district. The iron ore-laden locomotive was on its way from Bacheli in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh to Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh when the mishap occurred.

All passenger trains supposed to run on the route are running as per usual schedule. As the mishap occurred near the railway station having double lines, movement of trains is being done through the other track. “Movement of the passenger trains is quite normal, a senior official expressed.

“Reason behind the goods train derailment has not been ascertained yet,” the railway official said.

It is pertinent to mention, an engine trolley of the Odisha-bound 08504 Visakhapatnam-Bhawanipatna passenger train got derailed on March 10 while starting at Kottavalasa railway station after its scheduled stoppage there. However, no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
