Passenger bus goes up in flames in Odisha’s Dhenkanal – N.F Times


Though the exact reason behind the blaze is not established yet, it is suspected that short circuit from battery end or over heating due to tyre could have led to the fire. 


Dhenkanal: Over 40 passengers had a narrow escape after the bus they were travelling in caught fire in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district today. The incident took place on NH 55 at Kanteiolia in Dhenkanal tehsil at around 12.30 pm.

As per reports, the passenger bus bearing registration number OD19L2169 was coming from Talcher to Bhubaneswar via Dhenkanal when it caught fire near the college bypass on main road. As soon as they got to know, all passengers alighted before the bus went up in flames.

Though the exact reason behind the blaze is not established yet, it is suspected that short circuit from battery end or over heating due to tyre could have led to the fire.

On getting information, two units of dhenkanal fire service personnel arrived the spot and doused the fire. The passengers were evacuated without any casualty.  Loss of property is being assessed, official sources informed.
