Puri: The beautification lights that were removed from Puri Srimandir were reinstalled after the Chief Secretary of Odisha Pradeep Kumar Jena instructed the Collector of Puri Bijay Kumar Dash to cause an enquiry into this matter.
The Chief Secy Sri Jena along with the SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee today visited the spot after the incident. Meanwhile, four persons have been detained by the police in this connection.
As per reports, devotees of Lord Jagannath and local residents expressed their resentments over the removal of various focus lights installed to illuminate the exterior of Srimandir in Puri soon after the government changed in Odisha.
Several focus lights were installed for the beautification and illumination of Srimandir, ‘Bada Danda’ and ‘Meghanada’ walls as part of the Srimandir Parikrama project undertaken by the Odisha government.
