Jharsuguda: Two persons travelling on a bike tragically died in a collision with a pickup van on Chandinmaal road near Chichinda Chowk within Brajrajnagar police station limits of Jharsuguda district on Friday.
According to information, Kailasini Pradhan and her nephew Shail Pradhan, from Chandinmaal village, were riding a Passion Pro motorbike towards Chichinda Chowk when they collided with a pickup van heading towards Gandhi Chowk. The accident resulted in the immediate deaths of both the aunt and nephew.
Following the accident, locals gathered at the scene and beat the driver black & blue before informing the police. The angry locals also blocked the road, demanding compensation for the next of kin of the deceased.
Brajrajnagar SDPO Chintamani Pradhan, IIC Dhabaleswar Sahoo and Gandhi Chowk PS staff in charge Madan Mohan Nayak, arrived at the scene and handled the situation with peaceful talks with the agitating people.
